The Equality Act 2010 – are you ready?

A workshop on equalities law for Higher Education Institutions – in partnership with Taylor Vinters Solicitors

<<29 June 2011, Central London (venue - tbc)>>

On 1 October 2010 most of the provisions of the Equality Act came into force – all discrimination law now in one place! Compliance is vital – the key changes are complex. The types of potential discrimination issues which might arise are not always easy to spot. Many will be centred upon religion and belief. This workshop aims to equip HEIs with the legal and practical knowledge to address them.

The ideal is to be able to manage your organisation so that religion and belief are capable of being advanced in a climate of learning, tolerance and respect – which transcends mere legal compliance – but which nevertheless ensures that the law is observed. How can we help?

This workshop will provide you practical, relevant training, focused specifically on the challenges within higher education. We will guide leaders and staff through the maze and provide practical solutions and recommendations to ensure not only compliance but real progress towards the wider ideal. The workshops follow a broad pattern but are tailored in advance to meet the particular needs of participating institutions and the mix of people and roles who attend.

The session is half day (9.30-1) and can include up to 40 members of HE staff from any role or setting.

The fee is £150 per person and includes lunch and refreshments.
