Governance

The Religious Literacy Leadership Programme is guided by an Advisory Board, which consists of representatives from project partners and other experts in the field of inter religious training, equalities and higher education leadership. This board has overall responsibility for the programme and its strategic direction and is chaired by Professor David Maughan Brown, Deputy Vice Chancellor at York St John University

Project Team

Adam Dinham – Programme Director

Adam Dinham is Programme Director for Religious Literacy Leadership in Higher Education. He is also Director of the Faiths and Civil Society Unit at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he is Professor of Faith and Public Policy. He holds degrees in Theology and Religious Studies (BA & MA, Cambridge), Social Studies (MA, Brunel) and Politics and Community Development (PhD, Goldsmiths, University of London). He is qualified as a social worker and has practiced in Social Work and Community Development in city contexts, with an interest in working with faith communities in areas of urban disadvantage. He is policy advisor to a number of faith-based agencies and has advised central government on issues of public faith and has published widely on faith in the public realm.

Matthew Francis – Programme Manager and Research Associate

Matthew Francis

Matthew is the Programme Manager and Research Associate, supporting the critical and analytical development of programme content and its delivery. He has completed degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies (BA & MA, Leeds) with an interest in the sociology of religion and a PhD addressing the move to violence in religious and non-religious groups (also at Leeds). He is the editor for the AHRC/ESRC funded website RadicalisationResearch.org and is also an Assistant Research Officer at Inform (The Information Network for New Religious Movements).
